Understanding Order of the Eastern Star

Our Structure, Meetings, Publication

Mission:

International Masons Order of the Eastern Star's mission is to provide an organization where spiritual women and men with high moral and social character can contribute time, energy and wisdom towards charity, truth and loving kindness.

Purpose:

The Order of the Easter Star (OES) is an organization where women and men with high moral character, who have a desire to work for the betterment of others, and a drive to make the world a better place can contribute their time, energy and wisdom.  The OES was designed to serve among women the same purpose as that of Freemasonry among men, and to provide Masons with the cooperation of women kindred without accepting them into the Lodge.

Objective:

The objectives of the Order of the Eastern Star are to

promote through the association of its members, a bond of Christian

love and fellowship as well as a sincere concern for our fellow man;

to teach a moral way of life;

to provide for the welfare of our members in the time of need; and

to enjoy a social environment where we may find new and lasting

friends.

Our members share their time and effort with the Masonic Brotherhood in advancing the qualities of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.

"...to aid humanity through Charity,

is our Mason's heartfelt song!"

The Pernella Tubbs Supreme Grand Chapter currently has thousands of members meeting in approximately 500+ Chapters throughout the United States and Bahamas.  Each local chapters is subordinate to their state's Grand Chapter, which is governed by a Grand Matron and cabinet of officers.

For the purpose of ensuring accountability and to prevent any disharmony within states, National Districts were created to allow states within specific regions of the country to meet annually for the purpose of education, information exchange, and fellowship.  These National District Grand Chapters have Grand Matrons who are appointed by the Supreme President at the Supreme Convention every two years.

PTSGC Publication

The Pernella Tubbs Supreme Grand Chapter publishes The Intellastar bi-monthly which provides essential news regarding upcoming conventions, special meetings, edicts issued by the Supreme President, and other useful information needed by members of the OES.  It provides a list of all Supreme Grand Chapter officers and committees. It also provides a study topic for Stars to focus on throughout the year leading up to the Supreme Convention.
